Here's what this site is all about:
- Help children to find information about subject they learn at school
More often children are encouraged to find information on the subject they learn at school using internet at home. This is good as it serves two purposes: teachers need to spend less time preparing the information and children learn how to use modern technology
Our aim is to collect information pupils are studying in primary schools so it is easies for children to find relevant articles. We provide basic information on a subject and at the bottom of each article we have three sections:
- Find Out More
Links to sites and articles where more detailed information can be found
- Places To Visit
Places of interest that are related to the subject. Take children for a family day out, have fun and learn at the same time.
- Take Home
Items or books you may be interested in buying for your children. These items are related to the subject and help children exploring things on their own or with a help of grown up.
- Provide additional, but relevant information
It is impossible to extensivelly cover each subject in school and it would be impractical. Some children however are more interested in certain subjects. We aim to provide additional interesting information that falls outside of National Curriculum scope, but might be really interesting as an additional study material.
Also, providing interesting facts on a subject helps to add a spark to subjects that usually seen as "boring".
- Provide parents with teaching materials
Parents need to help children with their studies, and natuarally they need additional materials for teaching. We provide a selection of book and science kits that could be used to teach children at home.
- Suggest interesting places to visit for days out and holidays
For each subject we select few places of interest that are related to it. Take your kids for a family day out, and enjoy hands on experiments or visit historical places that children are studying at the time.
Material to this site is being added constantly. We also modify existing articles to provide more extensive information. So please check out for the changes, some of them will be announced in the News section.
We would like to hear your comments and suggestions, use Contact Us form to send us any enquiries.
Please use our Forum to share your ideas and experiences. Obviously we cannot provide extensive list of all attractions and interesting places that may be known only to locals, so we would really appreciate if you'd share this information with us and other readers.
